Having seen many opportunities for advancement in biotechnology, the company’s founders have pooled over their 40 years of collective experience in the field. Both founding members have established or managed companies prior to OpusPoint, many of which have flourished or have been acquired by larger pharmaceutical companies.
In the 1980s, a young Dr. Lindsay Rosenwald entered Wall Street. After his Wall Street stint, he started founding companies. Among the companies he has founded are Cougar Biotechnology, Inc. which was acquired by Johnson and Johnson. Also, between 1994 and 2007, he also ran the Aries Fund, a company dedicated to healthcare investments, and the Orion Fund which focused on private investments in biotechnology.

Joining him is Michael S. Weiss, who had worked with him in the Aries Fund. In 1999, he founded Access Oncology which was later on acquired by Keryx Biopharmaceuticals in 2004. He remained as CEO of Keryx after the merger, where he helped grow the company to a $1 billion capitalization company at its peak.
